“I am consistent with our roots.”

Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria, 1980

“The source of my art is in the popular elements that surround me. First in the culture my father gave me, then in the folk- loric elements in the area where I live, then in the very mixed Latin American influence with both local and Afro-Hispanic influences.”

Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria, 1980

Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria (Florida, Camagüey, 1950) studied at the School of Art of Camagüey and the Nation- al School for Art Instructors. He is a graduate of the In- teramerican Academy in the United States with special- ties in drawing and painting.
